Programme has helped me building up my conceptual clarity on identifying the relation between SRHR and climate change\u201d.<\/p><p>\u201cThrough the WORTH Programme I became familiar with different issues related to SRHR and climate change in broad Asian context through exercising, learning and sharing with other amazing participants from different countries. WORTH has enhanced my capability to become more focused while designing and crafting an innovative plan, with in-depth analysis and scaling up activity model\u201d.<\/p><p>About my project: Cultural Action to Promote and Incorporate SRHR in Climate Adaptation in Rural Bangladesh<\/p><p>\u201cMy project is based on awareness raising on climate friendly menstrual hygiene management among women and girls of coastal area Subarno Char, Noakhali; a poverty stricken and disaster-prone area in the southern part of Bangladesh. The activities designed for this project also focuses on building up capacity on advocacy among the community so that they will be able to lobby with District Relief and Rehabilitation and other concerned LGI\u2019s to incorporate SRHR supplies in relief goods during climate disasters. The unique model helped me to redefine and innovate ideas to address the issue of SRHR and climate change. I found some in-depth knowledge and new angles to understand the different dimensions of the subject that relate to the society and conditions which I am witnessing in my community and country. The WORTH Programme has enlightened my knowledge and deepened my interest that allows me to think critical and in a very organized manner that helps identifying the problem, relate to the local context and utilizing reference material to connect dots and come up with the solutions that address the root-cause of the problem. The whole experience was so engaging that it made the process most interesting and highly motivational\u201d.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>About my Project: Rise Her Voice<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cMy project is all about inclusion and ownership of indigenous youth voices into recommendations to climate change policy, as I believe, it is essential to ensure the representation and participation of affected communities in problem solution processes \u2013 to include the people who are directly facing the risks and threats by living in the most sensitive areas to climate change. The project will show that affected indigenous community voices can contribute meaningfully to policy making and raising awareness on SRHR and climate change nexuses and the impact of climate change on vulnerable populations especially on women. Therefore the solution, mitigation and adaptation will address SRHR issues as a major priority area in climate change policy. These new skills will be empowering to them for their whole life because they can practice mobile journalism by using their smart phones. Through the content they create with mobile journalism they can raise their own voices as well as offer a platform for marginalized women who are affected by climate change and SRHR. The project focuses on creating awareness on importance of nutrition by educating and training rural women on how to grow climate-resilient, nutrition-rich plant-based diet which will not only ensure better health during antenatal, delivery and postpartum phases of their pregnancy but also help fight malnutrition and stunted growth in children. These trainings will include planting of medicinal trees which will help reforestation in the community. The game would take an interactive story telling approach and allow users to experience different journeys made by characters in a climate vulnerable coastal village in Bangladesh. As users select choices on behalf of the characters they will be led to different routes and see consequent outcomes, that demonstrate the connections between climate change and SRHR issues in this particular setting. While building empathy and share knowledge are key objectives of the game, it also intends to serve as a knowledge hub. Information packages will be embedded within the game, which will help users make better decisions and solve quizzes. The main idea behind the project is to deliver knowledge and information about climate change and SRHR issues in a way that is more relatable. It was the experience from the WORTH Programme, that gave me a new and solid direction and pace for working on Women &amp; Climate actions\u201d.<\/p><p>About my project: Media Molds for women &amp; SRHR in climate change<\/p><p>\u201cAdvocacy with media can play an instrumental role to address the issue of women &amp; SRHR in climate action. The intervention aims to address the lack of understanding of nexuses of SRHR and climate change and the lack of awareness. We aim to build a momentum through media, where we want to draw the attention of local citizens and policy makers on this matter. ICSC is a climate and energy group in the Philippines focused on climate policy and low carbon development, while SRHR and the whole GAD agenda are relatively new to our streams of work. Because of the learnings from WORTH we can now scale up and add a gender lens to our existing work with some of the most vulnerable communities in the Philippines\u201d.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>About my project: Opening the \u201cCookie Jar\u201d for SRHR in the Context of Climate Change<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cIn the Philippines, the Gender and Development Fund of local governments has been criticized by some as a cookie jar, which might be used for any unfunded project. We want to help local development planners become more innovative and efficient in using their gender funds, so they can not only empower women and children but also help them respond to climate change. In our project site of Guiuan, in the Eastern Samar province, we will capacitate local development planners to gather field photos showing stories of women and children adapting to climate change. Afterwards, the planners will discuss these stories which would become the foundation of programs and activities in their gender and development plan.
