Introduction

ARROWs for Change is ARROW’s practical, action-oriented bulletin covering various women’s health and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) issues. It is published in English three times a year, with versions in selected Asian and Pacific languages produced annually. AFC aims to be a cutting-edge resource and an advocacy tool, with the rationale for producing the bulletin stemming from the need to communicate clear women, gender and rights perspectives to mainstream health, population and family planning establishments and influence them. It is meant primarily for Asian-Pacific decision-makers and programme managers in health, population, family planning and women's organisations.

Each issue of ARROWs for Change includes:

  • Editorial/Lead Article – an overview and gender-sensitive and rights-based analysis on the relevant theme
  • Spotlight – articles focusing inspiring experiences and examples of change in action on current policies and programmes, and on cases of innovative research
  • Monitoring – a sharing of information about efforts in different Asia-Pacific countries, particularly those relating to women and health
  • Resources– annotations of recent and relevant resources on the theme
  • Definitions
  • Factfile –a gender analysis of health data and concepts
