Each package contains a series of booklets covering conceptual frameworks, ideas for action and an annotated bibliography. Packages are designed to provide excellent teaching and action materials.

Towards Women-Centred Reproductive Health: Information

What do reproductive health and reproductive rights mean? Why are women critical of population and family planning programmes? What kind of reproductive health services do women want? What are the guidelines and models to follow when reorienting population and family planning policies and programmes? This is an information package that addresses these and other questions asked by population, health, family planning and women’s organizations related to both the preparations for and actual implementation of the Programme of Action of the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo. The package comprises a folder containing three booklets—“Broadening the concept: Addressing the needs”, “Ideas for action” and an “Annotated bibliography”. Excerpts of about 40 important articles, papers and reports written by women’s health advocates, health professionals, researchers and family planning personnel have been reproduced. The bibliography reviews around 50 key monographs, articles and papers, reappraising population and family planning policies and programmes. Views and experiences from Asia and the Pacific are highlighted. The first in a series, this information package is an action-oriented introduction to a women-centred reproductive health approach. It is a useful resource for all organizations concerned with women’s health and women’s rights
