Initiative for better research-based and evidence-based advocacy; and information and documentation practices to advance women's SRHR in Asia Pacific AimsThis is a one year project with the objective of fine tuning ARROW’s current research and monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and information and documentation practices to further advance women’s sexual and reproductive health and rights in the region. Focus & ParticipantsThe project brings together ARROW, BRAC and ARROW’s two partners in Bangladesh (Naripokkho and BWHC) as well as one partner in Pakistan (Shirkat Gah) to look at the research-based, evidence-based advocacy methods and practices used in ARROW's Women's Health and Rights Advocacy Partnership (WHRAP) and ICPD +10 monitoring project. It will explore how these processes can be bettered for ARROW and all its partners so that the region’s capacities in evidence-based advocacy and information and documentation for the advancement of women’s SRHR is further strengthened. Project ActivitiesProject activities are summarised in five steps: a) An internal mapping of ARROW's good and bad practices in research-based, evidence-based advocacy, and information and documentation practices. b) Mapping of partner expectations, ARROW performance and good and bad practices in research and monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and information and documentation practices according to the partners. c) Development of a partner-assessment framework, including methods, methodologies and work processes to build partner capacities. d) Development of a guide on research and monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and information and documentation systems and a strategy for utilisation to add value to SRHR advocacy in the region and at the global level. e) Sharing the learnings with all ARROW partners and other stakeholders and utilise as a basis for a learning network within partnership activities and for documenting how initial partners' research and monitoring, evidence-based advocacy, and information and documentation practices have changed. This five-part process is actually the start of a two-year capacity building project where ARROW will use the methods, processes, and strategies developed during this project to support ARROW partners throughout the ICPD+15 monitoring project.
