Dr Chee Heng Leng was an ARROW Programme Advisory Committee Member from 2004 – 2007.

She is currently is Senior Research Fellow at the Asia Research Institute (ARI), National University of Singapore. Before ARI, she was an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and Visiting Professor at the Institute.

Prior to that, she was an associate professor at the Department of Community Health, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

Her research interests are primarily in community health and health care policy, with a focus on the corporatisation of healthcare in Malaysia.

Recently, she co-edited Health care in Malaysia: Dynamics of Provision, Financing and Access, with Simon Barraclough (Routledge, 2007) and wrote and co-edited an Muslim-non-Muslim marriage, rights, and the state in Southeast Asia with Gavin Jones and Maznah Mohamad (2009).

She was one of the founding members of the Citizens' Health Initiative and is a founder member of the All Women's Action Society (AWAM) and the Women's Development Collective (WDC) in Malaysia.
