Ouk Vong Vathiny (Vathiny) is the Founder and Executive Director of the Reproductive Health Association of Cambodia (RHAC), which was established as an indigenous NGO in April of 1996. RHAC has assumed responsibility for programs implemented in Cambodia since 1993, under a USAID grant to Family Planning International Assistance.
Vathiny has worked in different capacities on the issue of reproductive health for over 20 years - as the Chief of Infectious Diseases Ward, HIV counselor, clinic physician/coordinator, vice-director, deputy director, director.
Vathiny earned her M.D from the Royal University of Health Science Phnom Penh, Cambodia in 1986, and went on to earn her Graduate Certificate in “Managing Health Programs in Developing Countries” in 1998. She received her MBA in Health, Population and Nutrition in Developing Countries from the University of Keele, United Kingdom in 2002 and her Diploma in Sexual Reproductive Health Right from Lund University, Sweeden in 2007.
Vathiny and RHAC are currently working closely with ARROW in the ICPD+15 monitoring project on the issue of contraception.
